Gaëlle Loth's works don't use tinted glass. They are straightforward, taking the most direct route between their creator's innermost feelings and our own. The brain commands the hands, which carry out their work in a language that is far more direct than any written or spoken vocabulary. There's something at once primal and eminently inexplicable about the Lyonnaise's work, in the impression it makes on the viewer. Emotions are there, naked, for all to see. Pastel colors nuance the shimmering, abstraction takes over from the figurative and expressionism battles with the unspoken as if to represent the full palette of feelings and the complexity of the human soul. And then, through these few strokes, the obvious becomes clear.
