Sylvain Havec fills in the gaps in his home town of Bordeaux. Not a blank space remains, not a moment of hesitation lasts. Sylvain Havec's works are talkative, and we listen with passion. This alumnus of the Ecole des Gobelins piles scattered elements into his productions: the objects that shape us, the pop culture that overwhelms us and the addictions that save us. With clean strokes sprinkled with luscious colors, we hear his crude, humorous yet not devoid of optimism. His abundant compositions are luxuriant without being confusing, and legible without being simplistic. We can - and should - observe his works as we would listen to a great play, one that is said to be full of sound and fury.
