Saitemiss - If I dream about you

The illustrations by Jhong Yi-Ting - aka Saitemiss - are not set in the same space-time as ours. They fly somewhere between heaven and earth, taking place in the interstice between one second and the next. And in this strange dimension, the Taiwanese artist's characters can indulge their deepest feelings. In a cascade of soft colors, faces freeze, eyes glaze over and hearts crumble. The illustrator's fine line is barely supportive: a few lines here and there, to remind us of the reality of her characters in this perpetual flow of emotions. Stripped of the superfluous and palpable, these angels can then give full rein to their evocative power, in the ethereal matter of which dreams are made. Careful, you're leaving the earth.
