Jules Magistry - River Phoenix early 90's

Strolling through the images of @julesmagistryis like opening a big history book of our own little history. The one that saw us wander between the late 1990s and early 2000s, between ostentatious pop culture and the onset of its depression, between ourselves and ourselves at an age when we're searching for ourselves sexually, philosophically and professionally. With his broad pencil strokes and colors as vivid as our souls are raw, he scrutinizes adolescent questioning, adult tribulations and lifelong fascinations. His self-published comic strip, Teenage Apocalypse 4, is a perfect example of his passion for this age of adult torment and childish delight. So, of course, it all veers off course, the drawing stubbornly seeking to escape reality to better create its own truth.
