BALANCE

Let's face it, in everyday language "being a snitch" is ugly. It means telling off your colleague who called in sick when she was out on the dance floor all weekend. And really, you could do it. Like any self-respecting Libra, you have your doubts, you ask questions, and then you follow the group's lead so as not to find yourself on the wrong side of the fence (and that's how Sandrine from accounting ended up with a reprimand). Afterwards, you're like that, you compare yourself to the others and you never think you're up to it, you wait for it to fall into your lap because you're lazy or scared, or both. To fool the world, you rely on an elaborate look from head to toe (come to think of it, the original sock revival must have come from a Libra). Like a winning dish on Top Chef, you love refinement, balance and unanimity. But then, sometimes it lacks salt. Dare to say you're available but don't feel like it, or that Crocs aren't possible. Some ideas are worth defending.

THE ARTIST

Forget monotony. Nolan Pelletier loves a lot of things, and if choosing is giving up, he's decided to keep it all to draw you into his maximalist, colorful and mystical world. A passionate collector of old books, retro advertising and printed paper of all kinds, he draws his inspiration from many directions. Historical references, architecture, mythological creatures, typography, the Victorian era and art deco, flora and fauna all combine to form a psychedelic, timeless and turbulent effervescence. His illustrations capture an artisanal rendering, although he uses virtual brushes and digitized textures to reproduce those material effects he loves so much. A well-honed method that enables him to offer us an infinite patchwork of visual stimuli, with black lines filled with acid colors. In fact, he's very successful at spreading his instantly recognizable vision: his illustrations can be found on posters, the covers of iconic books and newspapers, and even on the catwalks, on clothes and accessories. As you can see, with Nolan Pelletier, too much is never enough.
