Simon Roussin - Princesse Mononoke - Miyazaki

Simon Roussin
Of course, no one has to admire Simon Roussin's images. Everyone has the right to be wrong. But the stubborn, if they exist, will be depriving themselves of a breath of air uncommon in the drawn arts. For Simon Roussin possesses, between his pianist's fingers, the power to make images move. This film buff composes his illustrations as if he were directing a scene, using his characters as bruising heroes plunged into adventures you no longer dared to dream of. And that's precisely the aim of this alumnus of the Haute École des Arts du Rhin: to take his reader back in time and recapture his childlike soul, that child who is blown away by the books he reads and the films he sees. Simon Roussin uses his clear line and powerful colors to create the most fascinating illusion of all: believing in an incredible story. And it works like a charm.
