The artist
When you're from Angoulême like Clara Super Duper, you're bound to have a lot to do with the visual arts. But you also need a taste for sketching life as it comes along, from soothing landscapes to the little hassles of everyday life. And Clara has this sharp eye for her surroundings. A sense of observation that she combines with a desire to twist reality to make it more to her liking. In this way, elements mutate according to the artist's moods, gently departing from verisimilitude. Reality becomes blotches and shapes, adorned with exuberant colors to let feelings take precedence over carbon copies. This is how Thalès et le trône de la sagesse, a children's book written by Yan Marchand that she illustrated for Les petits Platons, became an extraordinary adventure, with each image imposing its own dynamic. Let's call it augmented reality.
