Arisa Fushiki
Arisa Fushiki's fascination with Germanic castles was brought to our attention by Mount Gallery in Tokyo. It was there, in 2019, that the young Japanese artist exhibited the Liebes Deutschland series she had created during a short trip east of the Rhine. The communication surrounding the event began popping up in our various screen tools, and we were able to see with what love and talent the Chiba native rendered these buildings from the other side of the world. To these imposing monuments, she applied the softness of her colors and the felt of her materials. Just as she represented the roundness of her cats, she depicted the pointed towers and right angles of these Teutonic giants. A marriage of opposites whose sparks flew into our eyes.
