Jocelyn Charles
An alumnus of the École Estienne and the École des Gobelins, Jocelyn Charles has a knack for animation. The Weekend and L'Impératrice are among those who can thank him for the clips he made for them. But he has not forgotten illustration, which he uses in all kinds of techniques, from felt-tip to pure digital. In his two favourite disciplines, we find the same obsessions with monstrous humanity, the beauty of anomaly and sublimating deformation. For the Parisian, horror and ugliness are always imbued with a certain delicacy, provided by the elegance of his drawing. Straightforward colors and simple strokes feed an aesthetic as striking as it is touching. Welcome to the in-between.
