Manon Bucciarelli

Truth be told, Manon Bucciarelli was originally a book cover specialist. You can see her science of lettering and powerful illustration at Belin, Gründ, Charleston, Anne Carrière and 10/18. Okay. But where her ultra-efficient, yet humane work really comes into its own is when she becomes a children's author for Gallimard. Here, her powerful colors, vivid strokes and polished compositions embrace her collector's obsessions and are varnished with a gentle pedagogy. Her pages are covered with a multitude of objects that seem to come alive and talk to each other, expressing the world and its plurality. And all its beauty is laid out before us, in a little box.
